Modern Slavery Statement

Meelmore Textiles Ltd fully supports the UK Government’s objective to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms and is committed to acting with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights in all areas of our business and supply chain.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and require all suppliers, partners, and contractors to operate with the same commitment to ethical practice, labour rights, and responsible sourcing.

This statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps taken by Meelmore Textiles Ltd to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains.

1. Organisational Structure

Meelmore Textiles Ltd is a Northern Ireland–registered business specialising in the design, development, and global supply of luxury uniforms and branded apparel for hospitality, corporate, and lifestyle clients.

Headquartered in Portadown, we collaborate with a carefully selected network of manufacturing partners across Europe and Asia. These relationships are governed by rigorous standards for quality, sustainability, and ethical production.

2. Policies and Employment Practices

At Meelmore, we are committed to treating every employee and contractor with dignity, fairness, and respect. We ensure the following practices are in place across our operations:

  • All employees receive written contracts of employment

  • All staff are of legal working age and entitled to work in their location

  • Wages meet or exceed national minimum wage standards

  • We provide a safe working environment with up-to-date Health & Safety procedures

  • We maintain strict policies on anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, and grievance processes

We regularly audit our internal systems to identify any risks relating to labour exploitation or unethical working conditions.

3. Supply Chain and Due Diligence

We work with a global network of trusted manufacturing partners. All suppliers must meet our standards for ethical labour practices, health and safety, and environmental compliance.

Our due diligence process includes:

  • Supplier assessments and onboarding questionnaires

  • Regular performance reviews and site audits where applicable

  • Contractual commitments to ethical working practices

  • Ongoing communication around labour rights and workplace protections

We are committed to transparency and will not work with suppliers who are unwilling or unable to demonstrate compliance with these expectations.

4. Risk Management

We recognise that certain regions and sectors carry higher risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Our risk assessment process prioritises the identification of vulnerabilities across the supply chain and implements responsive action plans where necessary.

High-risk suppliers are subject to enhanced scrutiny and are required to demonstrate proactive efforts to uphold worker welfare.

5. Training and Awareness

To strengthen our culture of compliance, we are working to:

  • Integrate modern slavery awareness into employee onboarding

  • Educate staff on the indicators of exploitation and reporting mechanisms

  • Promote ethical sourcing and responsible procurement across all departments

All relevant personnel involved in supply chain and procurement are expected to understand and uphold the principles outlined in this statement.

6. Ongoing Commitment and Next Steps

This statement will be reviewed annually and updated to reflect progress, developments, and further actions taken.

In the next financial year, Meelmore will:

  • Formalise a Supplier Code of Conduct

  • Introduce enhanced onboarding protocols for new supply chain partners

  • Strengthen internal training on identifying and addressing modern slavery risks
